This holiday season, we have partnered with Smile Train to help share the gift of a smile. For every patient who begins treatment between December 1 - 31, 1% of your treatment will be donated to help a child smile. For every 5 patients start, that covers the cost of a child’s cleft surgery.
What is Smile Train? Smile Train is an international children’s charity with a sustainable approach to a single, solvable problem: cleft lip and palate. It is the 1st cleft-focused global NGO with a sustainable model. As a result of their efficiency, Smile Train has supported more than 1.5 million cleft surgeries since 1999.
What is cleft? A cleft occurs when certain body parts and structures do not fuse during fetal development. Clefts can involve the lip and/or the roof of the mouth, which is made up of both hard and soft palate. Most children with untreated clefts have difficulties eating, breathing, hearing, and speaking.
How does this work? Smile Train partners directly with local hospitals to strengthen health systems and empower local medical professionals to offer surgical services and comprehensive cleft care to children in their communities. In addition to life-changing surgery, Smile Train’s local medical partners provide essential care, such as speech therapy, emotional support, nutrition services, and orthodontic care, to ensure that children have the opportunity to lead full and productive lives.
Join us this holiday by helping us raise awareness and donate to a cause that helps children have a healthy, confident smile they deserve.
